Newcastle initiates negotiations for Ferran Torres

 Newcastle has shown signs of inconsistency this season, and manager Eddie Howe aims to bolster the squad with the addition of attacking star Ferran Torres.

In their latest match, Newcastle suffered a disappointing 0-3 defeat to Everton. It was a game where the attacking stars of the Magpies fell short. At this point in the season, with a packed schedule and a slew of injuries plaguing the Northeast club.

To enhance squad depth and compete better in the latter stages of the season, manager Eddie Howe is keen on upgrading the team with the addition of attacking talent Ferran Torres. The Spanish star, who previously played in the Premier League with Manchester City, would easily integrate into Newcastle's style of play.

Ferran Torres is not irreplaceable in Barcelona's attacking lineup under Xavi, and he could leave to secure regular playing time. Recently, Torres has been uneasy as his major advocate, Mateu Alemany, had to step down, making way for Deco as the Sporting Director.

Barcelona is also considering selling Torres in January to fund the acquisition of Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid. The Portuguese player is performing well under Xavi on loan, and Barcelona is contemplating making his move permanent.

Apart from Newcastle, Napoli and Atletico are also expressing interest in the former Manchester City player. Barcelona reportedly seeks a minimum of 50 million euros for Ferran Torres.
